That sled is ten miles from my house. It's nice. He bought it at an auction years ago. The seller worked at the factory, and told him there were only six made. I know at one point Larry from Cordova had the literature on that sled. He told me one year at the reunion, when we were standing next to the machine. It has been to Crosby a few times. You may have walked right by it and not even know. I think the reason they didn't produce them because they were underpowered.

The reunion is where I seen it. The seller has a few scorpions for sale. I guess if your going to see a rare scorpion the reunion is the place. I just found the number made intersting.

Yes it is. I think it would be cool if you had the machine, to have the literature to go with it.

It's a Whip with a 295 in it. One could put whatever motor they wanted to in it. Put a 4 bolt 440 top end on it, who would know?

Yes the 290 Cuyuna. I guess I don't really know if it is actually a 295. I just thought I heard that at one point or another. To be honest I forgot a lot about the Cuyuna and such. I just don't have much interest in them anymore. I have converted to an Iron Lunger exclusively, some time ago. I think I may have said this before, but once you go "single" you never go back! I am not able to make the reunion this year but if I was I would let you take my sled with it's little 280 single in it, and let you be the judge. I think you would be pleasantly surprised. Smooooooooooth, just like Chuba apple pie. I have been known to convert one or two in the past. Perhaps I could convert you to the ILA, (Iron Lungers Association).

A few words come to mind when I read this: "HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!!!!"
Scorpion made Lil' Whips til 1979. WHY WOULD THEY MAKE A WHIP WITH THE SAME ENGINE??? Yeah, Scorpion did things "off the books" like my "73 and a half" that was made at the factory with leftover 73 parts mixed in with some of the new-then 74 parts, but to make a 300 Whip is just completely "off the wall."

So who bought the 78' 300 whip prototype? I heard it sold at the reunion. Congrats to whom ever!

Colors are kinda cool on this one. So is that the only one in those colors? Must be a dog with that little motor.

Hi everyone, I’m new to forums so bare with me. But I just picked up this sled. Its a 1977 lil whip 300. Never heard of the 300 before until I found this thread so was just hopi someone had a little more info on them?
If I can figure out how to add a picture I’ll put one up.
Thank you
