Hello out there in Scorpion land. I am totally new to Scorps so forgive if I ask any dumb questions. I just bought a 1979 TKX 440 and really like it except for the rear suspension seems to bottom out super easy. It is almost bottomed out just by sitting on it. The shock was leaking so I had a new shock that was for a different application that I retrofitted. It was better but still not right. I was wondering if the coil over on the paraslide 2 was suppose to be hi pressure gas charged or regular oil dampened?
Also, I was wondering if there was a hot set up for tuning the clutch and or carb. I wouldn't mind a set of performance pipes or any go fast parts for it. Speaking of pipes, the Y pipe exhaust manifold broke in two while driving pretty hard. We welded it back together but I think I will need a new one soon. The exhaust chamber also had several cracks that we had to weld up. Is this a common thing? Any info and or lines on parts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, John

Hello , you dont need that money pit , i'll come and take it off of your hands. I've never seen a scorpion with a good suspension in it except the last tk I had. We put an arctic cat suspension into it and it had 8 or 10 inches of suspension to it. gave it a real nice look all pointed down in the front. I've never heard of a y pipe cracking but being the age of things i would not doubt it. I would find a good suspension from a more modern sled and fab it into it, it took me and my dad about 6 hours to put ours in.

Not a bad idea. I have an extra 10 in my shop and I may even have a 121 track. I took it out on the trails and ran it out of gas. Now it seems to run a bit funny. Really boggy and pops. Done with it for the day. Thanks
