Ok,ok, sorry guy's, just have not played with the computer for a few days. Yes, Douglas was another darn good race. It was over 90 degrees and humid balmy day. Bubba and Al came down, won something, and got a second in D heavy Our E stockers finished 1,2,3 Jim won on the Blue 75 Super stinger 440 My 79 Sting 400 got better and darn near beat the Blue sled. So maybe that thing will come full circle. The 3rd place sled was a Citation We entered the E Stockers in D, but failed to make the final with either sled. D was won on a red and white #77 Exciter, followed close by Bubba,s TK, and a Merc.

Thanks Rene,
Hey Tom, did Princeton have time slips?, What about you east coast Scorpion racers?
My non studded sled beat the studded sled @ 60 feet? Dam this racing is a Juggernaut! It definitely all about the clutches.

yes Princeton has time slips. Takes low 7's to win D stock. E stock is in the mid 8's and F stock is faster than the E's with just under 8 seconds to win that.

D stock time for Higgins is about what she runs. A little slow if everyone shows up. C and B must not have had any entries cuz those times are real poor for those classes. E stock was fast, what kind of sled was that Amundson riding? And Scott ran good with his f stocker. I think the sled is ok, its the driver that needs a little work!!

Amundson was running my Blue 75 Super Stinger 440, same sled we ran at Willow. Damm thing works, we are not sure why ?
Running a comet 108, not sure of the weight and springs, but the darn thing pulls hard at 4500, and runs at 7300.
It is my test sled, I am trying to get the 400 Sting to out run it. At Willow the Blue sled beat the Sting by 2 sled lengths. At Douglas we tweaked on the Sting all day, and got within a ski length of Old Blue.
Any how I took that Sting clutch apart, tossed the weights and spring, going to start all over, only this time we are going to try the cam arms with less curve, and try running it at about 7800.
Of course for now we kind off lost interest in those 2 sleds, are beginning to think about getting ice draggers out.
The ice sleds are a real pain, as we can not get a good test until the lakes freeze. So basically we try to get practice runs at the track on race day, do our tweaking, and lick our wounds at the end of the day. Some of the ice racing guy's live right on a lake, and have a practice track right out front of their shop. Those guy's do most of the winning. They even have timing systems to boot!
