Howdy there SledRat,
We like pictures, and real easy to do here. There is a quick reply, and a reply button. Use the reply button, click Add Attachment, upper right hand corner, upload and insert.
I noticed some of my old Sachs singles have a drain valve near the bottom of the cases. I guess it is there to drain a badly flooded engine, it could be replaced with a plug.

Ya u bet when i get a pic of it i will post it however the only reason im concerned about it was worrying if it leaks air to much makes a mess on the tunnel.. it may lean out my engine...so i think i will plug it up.. thanks for the advise,,,

Hi sledrat. That is definitely the drain valve weverat mentioned. That drain valve comes standard on every single cylinder Sachs I've ever seen. It is supposed to have a pin that can be placed in two different positions.
One position drains that crankcase as mentioned. I don't know why Sachs seems to be the only engine with this valve but I've used that valve to drain fuel many times back in the day. Maybe it is really there as compression relief valve?
The other position of the pin closes the valve like a plug and this is the position you run the engine.

Those Eskimos are cool. I just helped a buddy revive the exact same model. FYI bogie wheels from an Evinrude Quiet Flite are a perfect fit as replacements. It uses boaski springs on the bogie trucks as well. They're nicely made machines. Well done!

Well done! yeah Not bad sled when it runs its fast But AS MENTIONED THAT BOTTOM PLUG IS NOTWORKING RIGHT SO ITS coming out and being directly plugged not taking a chance on leaning out my motor over a faulty drain plug no WAY!!! GRRRRR and i will be selling it first 500 cash TAKES THE ESKIMO !!!

Those Eskimo's are really light weight, and would make a good grass dragger. What engine options did they have? Do they have a Donaldson Power Tuned exhaust?
