Hey all,
I have a 72 Stinger 340. Appears to be in decent condition, but is missing carburetor. What make/model of carburetor do I need for this sled? I'm assuming a Mikuni or a Walbro of some kind?
Thanks for any help!

I am thinking that you have a Sachs 336 SS single cylinder engine.
I would suggest that you install an HD13A Tillotson carburetor. If you install any other Tillotson HD make sure it has a return line to the tank.
Be careful when purchasing a Walbro Diaphragm carb. The Walbro carbs with numbers higher than WDA30 are jetted very lean for a air silencer and will burn up an engine without the silencer.
If you do install a Walbro, I suggest a WDA6. Whenever rebuilding a WDA carb always use an original Walbro rebuild kit (never an aftermarket kit).
Going to the trouble of installing a Mikuni slide carb would not be worth the effort. There will be no horsepower or fuel economy increase on a 26 hp engine.

I may be mistaken, but I believe the sled has a Cuyuna engine. Will have to check, haven't had a chance to give it a good look over since I got it home.

I am not sure if the cuyuna started in 75 yet, but Scorpion purchased Rockwell in August of 74.
So if you have a Cuyuna and you have a 72, than you have a transplant. Scorpion did not use a Mikuni that early and only on a few models even later.
You might want to post some pics of the engine so the gurus know which engine that you have.

They started calling Rockwell engines Cuyuna engines in 1976 according to what I have read.
