I have a 1970 Mark II stinger. I cannot find the serial number so I can register it. Can anyone tell me where it's located? An example of a known serial number would be helpful.

Sounds like you are missing the serial number plate. Do you have a plate as shown in this photo, on the tunnel where your right ankle would be when sitting on the sled? If not, do you have two holes there where the plate was riveted on at one time?

There are two small holes where the data plate was. The person I bought it from did a horrible job painting the tunnel and other parts. He must have removed it for the attempted restoration. Any suggestions how to register it?

Any suggestions how to register it? You will need to visit your DMV website or the DMV to find out what forms you need to fill out, and the requirements, to register a sled of that age with, or without, a data plate.
