When arctic cat went under and sank our beloved scorpion sleds with it .What actually happened when cat resurfaced ? Were scorpion parts then available from cat dealers for a little while or how were things liquidated? does anyone know or did scorp 11 end up with all the warehoused parts that scorpion owned ? ;D

Good question. Can someone tell us how many parts "Certified Parts" has remaining, generally? I have a feeling we are delving into secret information that is being intentionally withheld!

Yep. I also heard scorp11 has all the stuff. He wishes he did :-) Scorpion had a huge dealer network when they went out of business. There were a lot of dealers out there that kept their parts inventories around and while most have been bought up or sold by now, you still find them from time to time now. I need to find more, so if you know of any, let me know ;-) Cat didn't take anything back from Scorpion when they came back. They really had no interest in Scorpion at that point. They did buy the name back from Certified and most of the Arctic Cat inventory they had. As for Certified, they still have stuff, no doubt, but most of the really good stuff is gone. Kind of applies to all brands they have, not just Scorpion. All depends on what you need I guess. |

The thing is you need the part number. I dont think they will find it for you.

I've been told there was alot of looting at the crosby factory when it closed. Former employess and random people tossing stuff over the fence in truck loads. There are more parts still available than you'd think. I've found some good stuff from what could possibly be some of these same people. Don't know/don't care as that was over 30 years ago now.

Scorp11, so you say on june 20th 1980 you were nowhere near crosby? You also claim that the truck backed up to the fence was not yours and the photo labeled as exhibit #1 could not possibly be you? Can you explain this sir.

LOL. I submit into evidence exhibit A, my birth certificate. I was a weee bit to young to drive at that point in my life.
Perhaps you have me confused with that gentleman from Menahga. I am certain he was old enough to drive at that point in time ;-)

Oh great. What did I start now???  BTW: a friend of mine works at the Crosby plant right now and said there are old Scorpion parts welded to some of the beams inside the building. I'm waiting to hear back from him with pictures. |
