Hi everyone, my first time here and first Scorpion sled. Ive been restoring vintage sleds for years but this is my first Scorpion. I bought a 1970 Mark III 400 (Kohler powered) Ive read that this was a one year motor for Scorpion? Anyway, the old girl needs a track like all the others and am looking for tips there, also looking for a parts sled or a few parts. Hood emblem, rear grab bar/bumper, a seat back cover or pad, plus a few other small things. If anyone here can please help me, we would greatly appreciate it! This is a joint project with my girlfriend and she is very excited about this project sled. Thanks scourge199@comcast.net

I've got some mark 111 parts I'd be willing to part with. I know I have a nice back rest. As for the track. A 71-73 wide track works. I also have a couple of them. Might take a lot of cash to pry one of them away from me. You also have to change the track drivers. Works best to find a donor wide track sled. PM me if your interested. I'm in Elk river MN.

I think a John Deere Wide track might be easier to find and I THINK it would work.
Come to Haydays this next weekend. Bring money and a trailer!

Haydays is quite a cruise for me from west Michigan. I wont be able to make that one. I also see that a 71 72 Stinger III would be a easier swap. Does anyone have a donor sled for me to purchase??? Thanks a bunch for the post Ddub.

Scourge, The problem you face is that the wide track sleds from Scorpion seemed to go down in production after they started using the better tracks. I have a couple, but I am keeping the entire sleds, and I think that is the problem that you are faced with. I will be at haydays and I'll keep my eyes open, but I don't get out much as I am a vendor. I am meeting with someone from NY........
And I will need one if I ever do the Mark III that I have.
People come to this swap from ALL over. It is worth the drive. Princeton is another good one (maybe better for vintage) but it was last weekend, so unless you have a time machine?
You do have A1 coming up, I have never been there, but I hear it is good. That is in MI.
The JD 600 doesn't seem to have a lot of love for them. OH, I have one of those also.... LOL I have a lot of sleds that don't get a lot of love in the collector market.
You could find a rough JD 600 pretty cheap, use what you need, then sell other parts and probably have your track for free. That is how I try and do some of my parts hunting.
Finding stuff is doing exactly what you are doing, get the word out, get to swaps and watch craigslist. Good luck.
