I was wondering if there are many scorpions out in the east coast states and where? I know that in the first few years of scorpion, or then trail a sled, one of the owners drove his volkswagon with a sled strapped to the roof out east to make sales. I heard that he came home with new dealerships lined up out there. Where? I know there are scorpion nuts everywhere in the country but other than MN, WI, MICH states who seems to have the most scorpions?

Hey, don't forget about ND!
I also have heard quite a few ended up in MT. I guess the ranchers liked the 71 Super Stingers. That is where one of mine originated I guess. The other one might have roots north of Minot ND.

If you look at New York on a map, take a look at the center of the state, Syracuse. I would say there is AT LEAST a 100 mile radius from Syracuse that had several Scorpion dealers going all the way back to the sixties.
It looks to me like there was some connection to automotive garages because I know of a few auto repair shops that became dealers. Therefore, I theorize that some distributor jumped in their truck and drove around, stopping at auto repair shops that had the look of a good candidate and signed them up!
This question is one of the reasons I am attempting to compile a Q&A list for people that can interview Scorpion dealers to find out how they came to be.

It would be cool to get the actual answer to your question from someone that worked at Scorpion. They could tell us where most of the sleds were sold, and then we could drive around and look inside all the barns in the highly concentrated areas! LOL Seriously though, this is a great question to ask a former Scorpion employee. Perhaps there are distribution stats laying around in a drawer somewhere...
