I was going to put on new fuel lines, and wash some dirt off my "new" machine today. What happened? I guess these below zero temps messed with my mind!! Actually this is too nice of a sled to not clean up correctly. Gary

Is that a Sting? What year, '79?

Yes it is a 1979. It only has 1000 miles, and is an untouched original. It even has the original factory tools!

It's amazing what a little soap and a new windshield will do! The seat cover is next.

Very nice!, I always liked the red 79 Stings better than the 1980 orange.
In the back ground there is a 4 foot tall gas bottle, looks like for a torch, is it just propane, or is it something you can weld with?

That bottle has argon gas for my MIG welder. It is so much easier than acetylene welding!

Looking good Racer. Where did you find this one? I actually prefer welding old school with oxy/acet torches. I find it quite peaceful and mesmerizing...kinda like watching a lava lamp...

I found this one in the very town I grew up in... Red Lodge Mt. I started it tonight for the first time. Even after removing that accelerator pump it started right up and idles normal. I'll take it out and put some power on it tomorrow. Acetylene...peaceful?? Not mine! Pop, pow, etc.

"Acetylene...peaceful?? Not mine! Pop, pow, etc"
Go down one size on your torch tip and increase your pressures. That way, when the molten steel spits up, the extra gas pressure pushes it away ...it'll be a zen moment for you. Now say it, hummmm....

Your stings venting looks oddly familiar 😃

I like your cowl in Blue! Do these vents help cooling very much? I haven't ridden mine yet.

The only bad thing about the above pictures are that it makes my clean find seem like almost a wreck!!

That was pretty rough. I don't know that I have that much ambition! It's nice that we don't have rust problems in Montana. Gary

Good one Rick! Wish I had your shop. My man cave is our two car garage. I can build anything I want, as long as my wife's car has room to stay inside!
