Maybe you guy's have already hashed this out, but here goes. Mine will spark, but you have to give it a hard fast pull. It is a blue spark, but I doubt if it actually sparks under compression (weak spark).
Were these electronic ignitions dependable? Did they have a timing curve? Do the Cat parts interchange? Should I just switch out to points?
One of the guy's adapted Polaris parts, I am guessing they mounted the internal coils to the stock scorp stater plate and used the Polaris cdi box and coil. I am playing with a few 80 Sting motors and thinking about options.
what is the advantage of Electronic ignition on a drag sled. I know it would be nice to have the timing back off at high rpm, but I am running at 7500rpm all the way. If I was oval racing, (on, off,on the throttle) then the timing curve would be use-full, but drag racing?
What do guy's think of these Scorp Electronic ignitions?
