Have any of you ever just used hose clamps to help a set of drivers in this condition from breaking loose from the aluminum inserts on the shaft?

So would the best question be (have any of you still had these break after putting a clamps on them?) This isent the first time I have done this, but this is my last set of drivers, and they are my last set because of the condition. I'm just wondering how far I can go with the hose clamp bandaid before I have a problem out riding.

If you go riding with bubbanoz and i, you might want to double up the hose clamps!!

I've seen worse, and I have had new ones shatter on me before too. I would just put the clamps on and run them. You could get many years out of them. It can get quite expensive rebuilding a driveshaft. And besides it's kinda nice to use up some of the parts just laying around. I built a Mark I with a bunch of my leftovers. All those parts take up less space in the garage when they are all in one piece.

eric, i know you have a lathe and mill so do what i have done in the past. make an exact size collar with 1/8 thick material and press it on the ends of the sprocket then drill the hole thru. i dont have any loose ones to take a picture of.

Of the driver. That's a good ideal. I don't have any larger stock laying around. I just used the hose clamps its worked for me in the past. I was just wondering how this has held up for everyone else on here. Also there is a flat on one of those drivers where the pin goes in. Not sure what manufacturer that driver was for so that driver a round ring would not work on that driver

I like to mount the driver, add the roll pin, and before adding the hose clamp slather the surface with epoxy, then the hose clamp over the wet epoxy. This way the clamp is bonded tightly to the wheel.
Some day, somebody will be pissed when they try to take it apart.
