The goal of this thread is to compile a list of questions to have ready for someone that might have an opportunity in the future to interview a Scorpion Dealership owner or someone that would know the history of a Scorpion dealership.
We could also interview family members of a dealer and people who worked at a dealer! There are members on this board that will be welcome to answer this Q&A for us as well.
Some people could do this particular interview without the need for these prepared questions, but I think having a list would benefit most.
Does anyone think they would actually do this interview with someone they know? It could be a written Q&A and/or a recorded interview.
I'll start the list of questions and please post yours to this thread as well.
I will bring all your questions up to this thread so when you do your interview, you can copy these questions (or just the particular questions you want to use.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Can I share your name and/or the name and location of the dealership in my story and share it with others? (This would be nice but we respect the wishes of the person being interviewed)
What year did you become a Trail-A-Sled/ Scorpion dealership and what was your final year as a Scorpion dealer?
How did you become a dealer? Did someone approach you or did you go looking for the ability to be a dealer?
Do you recall a few Scorpions you would say were unique, or special order units with special equipment?
Do you recall any common problems with the various models and any interesting fixes you learned to perform that made the sleds more reliable?
Did you perform any modifications on the sleds that made them more powerful, or generally work better in any way?
Back in the day, what was the approximate difference between cost and retail price of the sleds?
Did Scorpion reduce your cost on sleds that were leftovers or did you just have to reduce the price to sell them for less profit?
How was it determined how many sleds and what models you would take delivery on each year?
Did you or your customers ever get into racing and how did the Scorpions compare to the competition?
Did Scorpion offer training for the mechanics ?
How long did it take to change a track ?
Did you replace a lot of drive shafts ?
Did you have to pay for the sleds up front, or as they were sold ?
How long did it take to get parts ?
Did you do any racing and did the factory help you out giving up so extra info to make your scorps faster ?
