Well, i see its been very quiet on here. I myself have not been very active with the scorpions this past fall, but was on a little road trip this fall and came across this guy from the the original owner, had been sitting in his shed for what he thinks was 15 years. so here in the past two weeks i redid the seat with a new cover the best i could. the only major flaw was a mouse did some work on the original seat, however the belly pan track and hood i couldn't be happier with. and rebuilt the engine this last week, had it fired up today, but im having my typical fight with the f-in walbro in it. hope i get it figure out i would like to keep it as original a possible.

Thanks guys, and thanks for the good luck on the carb. Started first pull, and ran great for a few min then gas came pouring outa the carb, and has not started since, pulled it back apart twice and check the float hight, and everything looked good, got a nos walbro kit in it??? These walbros i just dont know about them, i may just put the mikuni vm 34 on it, and call it good

I am assuming it is a Walbro WF ? Some of these get a small thick rubber gasket that fits into the bottom of the needle seat. If you don't know it is there, it gets lost when blowing parts with the air hose. Ok, some of them have a rubber tip fuel inlet needle, and they do not get the gasket. That little rubber gasket looks dam near like the same one that goes on the adjusting screws of a Walbro WD, but it fits under the needle seat, along with a regular little gasket. The needle itself seals aginst this rubber piece. It sounds like your needle seat is leaking for sure, I have had to buy another gasket set, just to get that little sucker! In the 2nd pic there is a red box by the bicycle wheel, is that an empty box of Budweiser? Glad to see you drinking good beer. Oh ya, one more thing, have you bonded with that little helper spring? ww2.justanswer.com/uploads/motoforge/2011-01-21_194953_wfcarb.jpg See #44

Does yours have 2 adjusting screws on the top ? If so, they are both idle mixture screws. one is an air screw, and the other is a gas screw.
Crazy, they would ever do that, but basically you adjust the gas screw first, and then fin tune with the air screw. Or just set the air screw at 1 turn out, and then adjust idle mixture with the gas screw.
If you run the idle mix a tad rich, it will help the engine transition to mid range with out hesitation.

Yep, that's the biggest problem I've had, was the rubber tipped needles not sealing. I try to find an all steel ones if I can.

here is a picture of the brass fitting for the needle seat. the one on the left is the old one one on right is the new one. looks like the needle seats in the brass fitting it self and would not need the rubber piece the old one would use to seat the needle. the old seat was all cracked up and in pieces. also i cant remember how the spring that (item #34) supports the float works i never touched it. but when the carb is sitting up right was it suppose to be wound to prevent the float from falling I thought i remember it doing that. its been 5 years since i played with one of these carbs. Oh weverat. no beer in the cooler in the pics.

Well I f-ed with that walbro all week after work. I just could not figure it out, dug out a HD and first pull and it ripped, however i went out and picked up a mikuni today for it so far 330main 30 pilot 159 q0 needle jet 6dh4 needle 2.5 throttle valve and 2.0 air jet. perfect idle and wide open i like it, just getting a smuge of hesitation in the 1/8 1/2 range. TKjoe I notice you had a old thread where you used a 3.0 throttle valve. How did that work out for you after you changed the clutch?
