Been a good winter for working on sleds, not much riding here in SE MN.
I resurected some odd ball junkers that I picked up inadvertantly at that auction in Zumbrota, MN. They were just to cheap, and I happened to have a trailer with, so they came home with me.
71 Boa Ski with a 292 Hirth Twin - What a cool little motor
71 Allouette with a 292 Sachs twin - Got lucky and found a re-coil starter for it, dam thing runs good, but really under powered (I am used to those high output JLO,s)
Lastly, I am currantly finishing up a 66 Evinrude Skeeter.
377 oppossed twin, this engine needed re-build, and dam was that fun. It is so differant then anything else.
Strangely enough, I was able to buy Wiseco high compression pistons for it? So, I also wound up enlarging and raising the exhaust ports a bit. Hoping to get 15hp out of a 14hp engine? Hopefully we will fire it up this weekend, and give it test run. Fingers crossed!
Oh ya, it is getting a 36mm Mikuni power jet carb.
What are you guy's up to!

Kinda a wild winter for me. First of all slipped and fell and f-up up my back, then I managed to get a hernia, and had to get that fixed, so there went my plains for racing in the wild bill circuit for this winter. Have a relic class all built and all I did was stare at it all winter, but I managed to finish the 76 range whip, rebuilt the motor, and that was about all that sled needed, and now I got a sachs sa 400 single I have been meaning to get rebuilt Ill put that in my black bubble nose 71 stinger mark II 70 stinger thing I bolted together last year.
weverat, I seen that auction in zumbrota, I should have went to it a buddy of mine did and said man thing where going cheap. well at least I got two sleds for willow this summer for sure maybe brained and Duluth too, but well see. two sleds is about all a one man crew can handle anyway. Thinking of maybe going to st. Germain again this year, its been a couple years since then, and that's where I got the sachs sa400 couldn't pass it up for $100 they don't go for that in Minnesota.

I am 100% Rupp-less, definitely nice sleds.
I am always careful about having more then one of any brand in my shed, the dam things will multiply.
Nitroking, how many Rupps do you have?

I'm working on making my cuyuna 440 run 9000 RPMs and around 80hp. But since I have no way to truly measure HP I'm just hoping for a hard 500ft pull. That CCW looks great. Since you already have a stock one, you might want to think about a dual carb setup from a JD liquifire and find a tuned pipe from a JDX8. I sold everything I had 73 and now I want another to try this combo

75 whip...it's good to see that you're on the mend.
obj!...what can I say?...I see you're working real hard.
nitroking...I like your style. You'll use whatever part it takes to make your sleds run.
oldscorpman...you seem to like mid mount engine sleds and they are always gorgeous...hmmm, you've got my gears turning...
stinger 440...I might need some tips from you to beat my bud's Polaris!
I will be going over my two vintage sleds as I'm currently helping a good friend bringing his '75 Polaris TX 440 back to life. If I can't beat him in a drag race, I'll at least want to win in the long haul (tortoise vs hare thing).

I picked up a 71 Rolloflex Comanche last summer. Coverted it over to a doo track and skid. Been picking away at that here and there. Rebuilt a couple old wankels and a handful of other engines. Nothing special.
