Kevin, That's pretty cool. For that price I would have purchased it just to have it. I didn't know they made one.
The fact that in the shipping area he had local pickup only may have hurt him. Only in the description says he would ship it. If I see local pickup only, I generally don't read the description.

I never read the description cause he said he wouldn't ship !! I'd have bid on it otherwise !! Crap. They are actually quite a few out there. They pop up from time to time on Ebay.

cut it in half like obj1 and you'll have 2 motors for your next project. Instead of a rear tank, you could have a rear motor

Any of you guys find alternative CDI boxes....I restored an 80 sting and took it on a short ride, after shutting it off it never had spark again. Assuming the CDI box.

Hey cat1978...make sure to have resistor spark plugs before installing a new cdi box or you can burn out the new one!
Click on the above link and see which one I use.
It's from the place that sells ultra light airplane Cuyuna parts...ZDK Enterprises.
It works well for me...just follow my instructions.

I have some nos cdi's as well as flywheels not too keen to sell the cdi's but I would let one go for some sidewinder parts

Replace the exciter coil on the scorp stator plate with one from an Indy 500 and run the Polaris CDI. Easy peasy.

HeyStinger.

that would be my question too......Is it really that easy? Just swap out those components and you are good to go? What year of Indy 500

It runs just fine and I'm told the Polaris cdi has a better curve than the cuyuna. I don't have a lot of time on it because I have been working on the sled, try it, work on sled some more...its in an oval sled right now.
So I took the exciter coil off a liquid indy 500. I think it was a '92. And put it on my Cuyuna CDI stator plate. You do have to massage the holes just a hair but very little. Then use the Cuyuna CDI flywheel. You may have to sand down/form the coil pads some to match the curve of the magnets but that only takes a few min. If I remember right "correct" timing between the 2 setups was within a degree so I set my timing where I had it and it fired up first pull.
