I have a 77 sting with the paraslide suspension. Are there any adjustments I can make to increase ski pressure? Does cranking down the rear spings increase front end bite? This is for an ice oval application. Thanks

just for racing, I'd consider trying to move the front mount of the skid up. slot the hole it is mounted in or drill a new one. If you are worried about it moving, make a new steel packup plate and rivet it on.

Thanks scorp11. Moving the mount up is on the list. I plan to put a limiter strap on it and draw it up tight first. I converted the sled over to a 116" rubber track and am still working on getting the mounting geometry correct.

I tied the front mount down with a limiter strap last night and it made a pretty big difference. Next I am going to drill a new front mounting hole higher up. Another thing I have to do will be to add an idler axle up in the tunnel like the 80 stings. The drive lugs on the track I am using are hitting on the front mount.

If you drop the suspension down on the 77's, you will see the support plate is already drilled with 6 holes. There is a hole 1" up from the stock location. I drilled it out and moved the skid up. Looks like this is going to be a good starting point. With the 116" track I have 18" of track on the ground. Now I need to install the lube system and it will be time to test.

I never even think to take pictures. I converted the cleated track over to a rubber track. I completely disassembled the paraslide, replaced the scorpion rails with a cut down set of polaris rails. I did this so I can get slides at just about any local sled shop. Then I cut some wider cross bars to move the rails out to just shy of 8". Thats as far as I could go with it with the parts I had. The track is from a JD liquifer and I am using the tripple cog JD driveshaft. I have to use silent gears and chain to use that shaft but I have a bunch of those also. I think its going to work out well.

Final skid assembly is done. The track rolls nice. I can't wait to try it out. I had to add an auxillary idler shaft like the 80-81 sting. I also drilled out the rails for slide lube. The setup is a little short in the tunnel due to being 116 vs 118 but it doesn't look too bad. I just hope my cobble job holds up!!!
