is anyone familiar with john deere shafts and chaincases? was thinking about the possibility of putting a jackshaft and a better secondary in my scorp. john deere used the same track in some models. Is there a J D site like this one?

Also, has anyone seen a mid engine mounted sled with a jackshaft? Im talking about a production sled. Could really throw alot of HP at a Jackshaft and good chaincase with good brake. Did ski doo TNT's?

JDSleds.com is the website you are looking for. I think the only difference in the driveshaft is JD is 1 1/8" vs the 1" scorpion shaft. I know the later JD parts fit in the later scorpion sleds not sure about fitting in the tunnel mount.

maybe a scorpion chaincase could be moved to the other side to hold the end of the jackshaft? It would be cool to use a modern secondary clutch. It would be adjustable and self aligning. hard part would be the brake.

Pararailer, haven't you looked at craig's range whip? cat secondary and Polaris chain case with a bike brake. 2 seconds at Princeton behind delaughter's 440 both classes.

The only thing off a john deere pararailer needs is a 3 point hitch to haul bubbanoz's trophys.

I have looked at that range whip, but Craigs sled is a front mounted engine. that jackshaft sits right down low. different than a steel chassis.
bubbanozes trophys are a big haul!! need a tractor!!

I dont really want to use any cat or pol parts. What about a brut case? I want to keep it all vintage.

The JD chaincase is very similar to a polaris case. This will be a tough project but it will be very cool when it comes together.

We are starting on a RETRO class sled. I have a real nice BRUT chassis/belly pan. Donated the suspension to the BRUT build last winter but will use a pararail anyway. The BRUT chassis looks like it will be great for a retro build.
