Do any of you historians know if any scorpions ran at the SOO? Or at least did any try to qualify?

So based on some recent scans posted, there were 4 that qualified in 1970 and 1 in 1971. Of the 1970's there was 1-634 2-740 and 1-760? In 71 it was a 793 that qualified. Now to try and find some later year results.

According to a thread on VS. The massey's were probably scorpion versions also for a total of 35.

ddub, that list is from the Winnepeg/St Paul I-500. I am looking for Scorps that ran the Soo I-500 in MI. But you have to admit the Scorpion CC sleds were pretty awesome.

I'll have to dig out my old Soo I-500 history book, but I believe 1971 was the last year an actual scorpion qualified and raced the Soo I-500. Ken Manning qualified a 1980 sno pro scorp up front a few times and raced it until the switch over to the Manta twin tracker. Outside of that, pretty dry stretch for the Crosby brand at the mile.

Lets find a 2000 model and change that!!! If we get in before 2015 the chassis will still be legal. At least it sounds good on paper.
