I have a 1975 Scorpion Whip that tries to start and runs for about 5 seconds but then stops and whenI pull the plugs they are just soaked with fuel. I took the carb off (Walbro) and checked the jet and the float adjustment, they seem fine. The spark plugs are new but I'm not sure the spark is real strong, sometimes the 2 plugs don't appear to have the same spark, one bluish white and the other a yellowish hue. One of my buddies said it could be the coil, not giving enough spark to keep the fuel burning ........ any thoughts? PS, if it is the coil, anyone know a good place for parts, Thanks, Bikerterm

could be as simple as bad plug wires and caps. new wires and caps are a cheap easy fix. if it has sat for a while, the points may be dirty. you can get a point file at any auto parts store. you'll have to remove the recoil and file thru the flywheel. I'd try this before buying new coils.

The fuel pump diaphram can leak causing an over fueling situation in the carb with flooding. Also follow the manual for setting the float and spring tension on the float.
