I have a 1971 Stinger II with a 440 Sachs and the Walbro WD carb. I have cleaned the carb, installed new gas lines and added a push/pull primer. I'm also running the sled with a small auxiliary gas tank as the sled has the welded in tank and I haven't tried to restore that yet I can get the sled to start on the first or second pull and it will run for a minute or two and then dies. It then is flooded and won't start. If I let it set over night it starts right up and then floods out again. Does anyone have some suggestions on what I need to do to get this thing running properly? What do you think is wrong. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

I have the same sled, same motor. if your getting fuel then it has to be spark. the sachs motors need good spark. points need to be cleaned and possibly replace condensers. trying to find German ones is getting hard. the china ones don't work for doo doo! theres a really good youtube video about cleaning points and replacing condensers. I lost spark on mine in the middle of the trail a couple weeks ago. she made it about 10 miles back on 1 cylinder!

The big problem is it has a walbro on it Sounds like the lever on the inlet needel is not set right and is flooding out the engine. I have had that happen with aftermarket metering diaphrgms. The rivet is oversized so I have to adjust the lever so it will run.
