scorp11 has a good reason for his vote, and I'm sure it probably is a part of anyone's vote. The first Scorpion influence is likely to guide a bias. For me it does as well... I guess I'll be the only one to vote for the '73 White model. I agree metal flake is cool, but that alone isn't enough. The '73 hood style is the best and I always have liked the look of white with black and chrome. Even better with the ruby red seat. The '71 wedge is disagreeably ugly. 'Nuff said. The bubble nose never grew on me, but that was before my time anyway. I'll refrain from mentioning my 2nd or 3rd vote to avoid breaking the discussion "rule". You are correct that some of what influences what we like is our first sled. My family's first sled was a bubble nose and still in the family, actually mine now. The first sled I actually drove at the ripe old age of 9. I always thought the RED Bubble nose sled were the coolest at that age. (Red is my favorite color!) Didn't realize that we had probably the ONLY silver one! LOL The 71's, they had to grow on me. After I saw and more importantly HEARD some 71 Super Stingers at the Scorpion Reunion, did the 71 gather more of my attention. I actually LIKE the 71 now. Yes I am sick. I probably like the old school stuff just because it is different and a bit simpler. But I have newer stuff also. Maybe this one can be voted as at least a "good" looking scorpion? I like most of them. Sometimes I like to rib some of these guys. OBJ is one of them.

To bad the stings did'nt have a short pararail instead of slide suspension for the grass. We have tried the stings but to win on the grass the tk's are the way to go. Sorry pararailer Which would be faster across a lake? A 80 tk or a 79 sting? My tk gets up and goes pretty good across a lake but a sting would be real fast too. Still think Scorp11's 79 sting is the coolest scorpion I have ever seen. I mean it! If you guys seen that machine in person you'd know what I mean!

Its lighter and has a shorter lighter track. Lower rotating mass and less rolling resistance in snow. The poly tracks on the stings roll real well as long as they get a little snow. Everything else is the same from a performance stand point. Same motor, pipe, gears, carb, airbox. . . Primary reason the TK's make a better grass drag sled is the pararail. Slides like snow, not dirt :-) And thanks for the kind words on my Sting :-)

The question maybe should be. which sled would make it the furthest across the lake?

Any 71' wedge red metal flake hood or vintage 71' purple metal flake hood....(damn....I just let out a little secret hiding in my attic...) Likely be years before unveiled.
