Hey guys, I will be going to St Germain Classic Sled Round up on May 26th.
I would like to put together some of the Scorpion colors INCLUDING the different metalflake's that Scorpion used.
If someone has some samples they can bring to me at St Germain I can develop the colors. If you need the items back, I will get them back to you. If it's a hood, talk to me first though!
I have a Red Whip, TK, early green sleds to use so I do not need those colors. I have the red metalflake, so that is covered. But beyond that, I have NOTHING for Scorpion.
I have had a number of request for the Bullwhip and the Brut.
If you are not familiar with what I am doing, visit vintagesledpaint.com
If you go to St Germain, look me up. This will be my first visit there!
I will also be offering free delivery to St Germain.
Thanks in advance.

Hey Dennis,
Not sure how you get your colors, but I do have a few NOS hoods that have never seen sun so should not be faded at all.
Well, the one on my Whip has seen sun now, but very little :-) Obviously I can't ship the hoods to you. The NOS hoods I have left are a 79 TK, an 80 Sting, a 79 Sting, and the 75 Whip metalflake.
If I can get you anything (other than a piece of the hood) let me know

Obj, shouldn't need big samples at all. Good quality especially with the flake is much better.
Thank you.

Kevin, for painted colors, it's pretty much old school.
Find a close color, and start tinting. So I need the item at my location. Paint changes colors as it dries so sometimes some mild altering is needed and this is a time consuming task.
I don't use the scanners much, I am happy for those that think they are great, but I am looking for a closer match than they are able to generally offer. Even then you need to spray the color and verify match so I need the item. At the end of the day, it's a pair of eyeballs looking at the finished color, not a computer!
Maybe you can tell me this, is the TK red and the Whip red the same? I would think they are. Since I have a red hood, maybe I will develop that color and send you a sample to verify with your NOS sample. I don't want to be responsible for NOS hoods!
Just remembered, I have a 80 Sting also. The hood was spraybombed, but maybe I can get a match off that one and send you a sample there also.

I am going to guess the whip red and TK red will be different only because one is plastic and one is gel coat. I'd have to look at them to know though. I can certainly do some comparing if that helps. I could take a picture of them too if you need a starting point. I still have an old film camera, a lot of times they do a better job of representing true color than digitals do. but then lighting means everything for pics.

So the TK is fiberglass? Didn't realize that. The one I have is cleverly hidden in my barn. LOL Maybe OBJ needs another one?
Yes I would say they would end up being different.
Let me get some colors put together on the red and I'll get a hold of you.
