I'm working on finding out what the best clutch would be for the 634 Hirth. I got a 30mm shaft in the engine and the only clutch I got around here for a 30mm shaft is a 94c duster, and im not sure whats wrong with that yet but I cant get the new pucks to seat right in it so It never opens all the way causing the clutch to stay engaged at idle. Im pretty sure I got the right pucks, and yes i cleaned the clutch before i assembled it, but before I look into this to much and spend money on somthing i may not like, im going to ask you more experianced scorpion guys if any of you know what clutch would be the best for this engine? Its not modified or anything like that just want it to ride. All my scorpion clutches are 25mm and I need a 30mm clutch for it. and its a 1 3/16 belt. I was told to use a powerthrust II clutch, but I currently don't have one, and is that for a 30mm crank? anyone got any ideals for me please let me know. Thanks

I agree with stinger440 on this. I'm not sure if there is a other manufacturers track that can be used. If your going to go through the work of this might as well do the stinger III swap. You dont have to do any hacking on your sled. There is a post on here somewhere that tells u how to do it. Look at my posting in the for sale and wanted. Under the mark III for sale. That sled has had this done to it. And its all scorpion parts. That's why I posted that all the work has been done to it. My hands are full with my current sleds or I would buy it. Anyway if your looking for a good original track. I wish you luck I have my doubt's you will find one.

Raj where you from. If your by mn there is a 72 stinger III on Mn craigslist located in swanville mn for $100. Looks like its rusted out good under the seat. So I personally would have no problem guttuing the entire suspension out of it and using it as a donor. However I have no ideal what condition the track is in since he's got no pictures of it. For that price may be worth checking out. Otherwise keep paitcent and keep hitting up swap meets. There out there its hard to find guys who may want to sell this stuff if they got it.

Is anyone going to go look at the parts in this listing? I am really interested in what is in there. The guy says if he don't sell them in this auction he will spend the time to go through it and relist parts separately. I think for him that would be the best ideal. Will have to keep a eye on this one.

I just hate these adds. We need details on what is there. I hate it when someone has no clue on what it really is they have but they think they got a pot of gold. Okay $2000 for what? Okay its mostly scorpion stuff cool, and its worth 4x what they are asking. yea okay but whats there? I see Items that i know what they are, but good luck with the $2000 from me? More details please. I seen we should do our research in the add? maybe the seller should do that. Would make selling this stuff so much easier as it would be so much easier for the buyer to want to buy it!!!!!!! Weverat and nitroking72 I totaly agree with both your post. I wish i knew whats all there.

That's a big move 18 years is a long time. Good luck to you. I got lucky when I got these machines. Lathe was my dads. My brother found the mill from a shop that was closing and the motor was shot so I got a 110v on it now. Works good. I have had to make a few things for the old sleds. I'm just getting things set up know I just built that room in my pole barn. So I'm getting things organized right now. Hopefully soon if anyone needs something made let me know. Start out makeing things for my hobbies and see if it goes anywhere.

If you can use that in the 71 or older class I think that cat has met its match. Dont that motor put out 90hp? All i know is that looks deadly but very cool.

I agree that 634 hirth is damn heavy. I never put much thought into racing it. However I still don't have the clutching right, but I cracked it half throttle and I was surprised how quick it really was. I need to get it out to the lake and play around with it. What motor is he running in that cat? Im not very knowledgeable with the old cats. I was toying with the fact with racing next year. I am playing around with mikuni carbs on my whip right now. Playing with jetting. I just never thought the stinger with that motor would be a good race sled. to top heavy?? I know I need to get it out and find out what that thing is about.

The hirth. Not sure if you can see the home made engine plate its just two 6inch wide aluminum 6061 bar stock bolted, and pined perpendicular to each other with slots milled in for adjusting the engine. I still got to finish the wiring for lights. get the track adjusted, and then figure out the clutching I got a 94c on it right now orange spring, and 6 pucks, and it engages way to quick. So heavier spring? thought I could use a power thrust cluch but the tapper was different 25mm the hirth is 30mm. so the duster is all i had for now. wish I had a 102c maybe get one next year we will see how much i drive this sled or what it gets driven for. just need to work out the bugs and find a rubber plug for the chaincase. Oh yea and a little snow too would help got to get the carb swap finished in the whip. May work on that today.
