Mine has no rubber. It's just a tight plastic on plastic fit. The vent hole is between the E and the F on the "glass". I was looking at your sled picture. It's an 80 or 81 Sting hood, but the rest seams to be of another model. Your tunnel sticker says 400 and has a blue stipe. Mine had a 440 with a red stripe. My paraslide says "Paraslide III" on it and I believe you said yours is a "II" model?...you may have a blend of 2 different models?

That picture of yours is why I decided to do mine! I like it! Hope you don't mind!!! "Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery"...I hope you don't mind that every time that I'm out there riding, I imitate your racing style!
The flat white captures the true look of snow...I'm not artistic, but I've had some compliments from artsy types that are not into sleds. When they walk through my garage they all gravitate to my Sting even though I have a newer motorcycle, Cat and another classic sled...just sayin'.

Nice work!
BOND with your welder and grinder???...I think you're going to get down right intimate by the time you're finished!!!
It looks about as much fun as a trip to the dentist for a root canal
Keep it up and we'll see who can turn their ugly duckling into the nicest looking swan.
Man, that's got to be THE ugliest sled ever made!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...just sayin'.

I'm Canadian, so it would have to be a Moosehead Beer wrap, eh?
I could make the antlers wrap up the windshield!
I could put a red cover on my L.E.D. light and pass the sled off as a "Rudolph The Red Nose Moose" pulling a sleigh for the grandkids at Xmas time!
You're always such an inspiration Weve.

How do you improve the looks of a Ski-doo Stratos?
The first and most obvious way would be to park it next to weverat's Super Stinger!
The other way is to cut out all of the ugly (there's a whole lot there!) and to install a Whip windshield...just trim off the edges.
Now the only question remaining...is it a Whip-doo or Scorp-doo?

Weve, no new project.
Even if the garage was insulated, 2 vintage sleds are enough for me...that may be a hard concept for some to understand! We did get 5 inches a month ago. I did go for two rides on my vintage sleds, but the snow is mostly melted now.
It sure feels good to ride after a long summer.

Yeah, for some reason, they just don't seem to quite appreciate the smell of 2 stoke oil and gas the way that we do!

MFG supply currently has piston and rings on sale for $30 each plus cheap shipping. The woman there told me that they sell lots of them and they've gotten no complaints. I've got three on order. I currently use SPI pistons at double the cost. They are good quality. I got a Winderosa gasket/seal kit from my local snowmobile dealer's aftermarket catalog along with the SPI pistons.
